"Renovation and Rehabilitation"

The space is a five-story traditional building, that was originally residential, located in Harat Al Mazloum.

The goal of this project was to renovate and rehabilitate "Beit AlShafie" (Endowment for Alshafie Mosque): a five-story traditional building located in Harat Almazloum district. The design of Amar Al Balad office sought to renovate the building to meet contemporary needs and usability while respecting the original traditional character of the building.

The interior celebrates the region's traditional Hijazi style and the surrounding environment through the implementation of wooden flat (Qantara) and pointed (Makhmus) arches, wooden Mangour screens, natural lighting and water features.
